Washroom Hygiene Tips

Although the toilet bowl may be highly contaminated with germs – surfaces that are frequently touched such as flush handles, taps, door handles, switches or dispenser systems for soap or toilet rolls, represent a greater risk for the transfer of germs.

A simple tip for avoiding transmission of germs from the toilet is to flush the toilet with the lid down as germs spread in water droplets during flushing – these settle all over the washroom area.

Surfaces in the bathroom such as the flush handle, toilet roll holder, toilet seat, taps, door knobs or waste bins can all be contaminated by touching and should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.

Clean the toilet and hand basins with separate cloths to avoid transferring germs
